Ownership
There are four different ways property can be owned, and here's how they're defined:

Common Ownership
The property is inherited by all the world's people and is freely available to everyone.

Cooperative Ownership
The property is owned by democratically controlled groups.

Private Ownership
The property is owned by private individuals.

State Ownership
The property is owned by a governing body that represents the public.

Productive Property
Productive property includes natural resources (such as land, water, and plants), workplaces that make products for the public, and anything else used in production.

The allocation system you select determines how productive property can be owned since each system uses productive property in different ways.

For example, in market economies, productive property could be owned by a group of workers (cooperative ownership), or by a single person (private ownership).

In centrally planned economies, productive property is owned by the state since a central authority is creating a plan for the entire economy.

In democratically planned economies, productive property is owned commonly since producers and consumers are working together to create a plan for the entire economy.



Personal Property
Personal property includes items intended for personal use such as food, furniture, and houses.

Unlike productive property, personal property can be owned privately or by the state, regardless of the allocation system you select.
